Kansas City Christian bowlers are looking forward to striking it big this season. This year the  team will be led by a new bowling coach, Chuck Reade.

“I am extremely excited to coach a bowling team.  I believe the Lord has given me a skill that not everyone has,” Reade said.

Reade said that he is an anchor bowler on several teams and has been bowling in leagues for about 10 years. He has also known several teachers and coaches from KCC through the years, which made him aware of the open coaching position. Reade wants to see his bowlers to grow this season.

“My hope is that the bowlers learn more about the sport, continue to practice, and are witnesses to those we bowl against,” Reade said.

He  hopes for the team “to be gracious whether winning or losing.”

Reade said bowlers will be focusing on the basics:  the four step, lane courtesy, consistence and making spares.

One returning team member, sophomore Lucas Miller, said, “I want the bowling experience to be fun, and I hope to improve my average score over last year.”

Miller also added that he not only wishes for good bowling scores but also great food.

The practices will begin in early December.  The first competition will be held mid-January.

Coach Reade said that he feels like coaching the KCCS bowling team is “a dream come true”.

He said that he is looking forward to teaching something that he has been learning for years and that he wants the team members to be competitive, have fun and gain confidence in their abilities.
