The long awaited sequel, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is said to be the best Marvel movie so far, beating Iron Man and Thor in the estimated gross at 200 million. Fans have eagerly waited for the return of “Star-Lord” and actors Bradley Cooper (Rocket), Vin Diesel (Baby Groot) and Zoe Saldana (Gamora). Along with the humorous cast, oscar nominee’s Kurt Russell and Sylvester Stallone join the film.

With the first film being set in space during the 70’s, the sequel embraces the 80’s with more catchy songs and vibrant colors. Many references are added including Pacman, Galaga and the television show Knight Rider.

For big Marvel fans, get ready. Easter eggs are everywhere in this film. From references to the comics to future movie characters/plots, audiences can be entertained by what the past few years of Marvel films are leading up to, the Infinity Wars part 1 and 2 being released in 2018 and 2019.

Besides the classic music and loveable characters, the Guardians learn about family and how not everything can work out perfectly. Lead guardian Peter Quill meets his father and deals with the new transition. Rocket makes a new ally that teaches him more about himself then he realized. All in all, the Guardians mean to dominate, and they succeed.
