Disney has done it again.

Frozen, which is based loosely on the story The Snow Queen, is possibly one of the best Disney movies since the “Disney Renaissance” era. The “Disney Renaissance” refers to movies such as The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and The Lion King that were made in the 1990s.

In 2000s, post “Disney Renaissance,” Pixar reigned supreme with movies like Finding Nemo and Up. However, Disney started making a comeback in 2010 with the release of Tanlged. Now, just three years later, Disney has broken box office records with their premiere of Frozen.

Frozen takes on an element reminiscent of the “Disney Renaissance,” while producing a fresh and exciting plot line. With the help of a Broadway alum-filled cast, the songs are catchy, fun, and humorous. Disney keeps the audience interested with the abundance of laughs it produces, as well as with the unexpected turns the story line takes.

I recommend Frozen for anyone who is a Disney enthusiast or fan of Tangled. It is very family friendly, but equally entertaining for the older crowd. Disney has definitely re-established their reign with this one.
